Summary of Session 1 – Sakthika S

The first AS I EVLOVE meeting that I attended was unexpected. I embarked on this Journey with little awareness but was later inspired by the people I met on the first day. Each speaker created a sense of curiosity within me.

The meeting started with a brief roadmap delivered by Rtn Pradeep Yuvaraj and the guests’ actual inauguration of the Ceremony. Later, Rtn MD RS Maruti delivered his inaugural speech highlighting his experience of getting involved with the Rotary Club. His contribution to the Sanjeevani Project was truly inspiring to learn about. His inspired vision of Dr. Balavenkat filled me with curiosity regarding the person himself. His take on the mentoring sessions of this program made me feel blessed to be a part of it. His words on how to take the input and find our spark planted a seedling in my mind. He ended his speech with an inspiring quote – “put in the fullest effort for the smallest thing you do”.

Following him, Rtn Dr. J Balavenkat told the Story of As I Evolve His take on the motto of this program is to make the students evolve. He talked about the necessity of integrity, humility, and great communication. He told us to absorb all the lessons we get here and deliver our 100% in our actions. His take on mission and vision gave us insight into how we should navigate. His thoughts on being our self-role model inspired us. He concluded with a simple yet thought-provoking quote –  “Begin with the end in mind”.

Next, we were met with a new person/guest(?) or so we thought.

Rtn. Pradeep Yuvaraj took on his unknown persona and stunned us with The Art and Science of Storytelling for Leadership. His story of his beloved friend made us thunderstruck until we found that it was all a story. He connected the various requirements for a good story delivery and left us with a crisp formula of how it will turn into success. This interactive and fun-filled session left me thrilled to the core. Greatly looking forward for this journey.
