Summary of Session 1 – Malika

What I learnt from the first session!

So, this is what I gathered:

  • We have to dream big and actually envision ourselves among the greats.
  • If we consider ourselves to be ordinary people, in essence, that is all we will be.
  • The youth, that is us, have the power to determine the future. We have enormous potential for growth and the trajectory of our progress can change the most drastically.
  • Now is the time to change, not when we’re older.
  • When we are younger, we have the ability to fail several more times than when we’re older. There’s less liabilities when we fail.

Storytelling is an art. The more attractively and concisely you word things, the better you’ll capture your target audience.At some point, I noticed that the speakers were very good storytellers themselves. Sometimes I found myself hanging on to every last word!


I remembered this quote:
I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.’ – Maya Angelou, and the session really made me feel like growing as a person, as a leader, as a force to be reckoned with!
