Summary of Session 1 – Harini C
As I evolve, a leadership program involving students from various institutions, coming together to participate in this year-long program for various self-development opportunities with the help of renowned speakers and mentors.
Rtn A Ramkumar, Founder and CEO of Readylink Internet Services Limited gave the welcome address of the session. He addressed the students and fellow Rotarians in the program and encouraged us to participate in this leadership program actively. Rtn Pradeep Yuvaraj then gave us the roadmap to this year-long program, who talked about the importance of how one’s ideas and knowledge when combined with their leadership abilities could bring immense development to society.
The inauguration speech was given by Rtn Maruti, who fondly recollected his college memories, as well as the impact of joining the Rotary Club in his youth. He also talked about the Rotary Club’s contributions to various recent developments (sanjeevani mission) and other noble contributions by the club and its members.
As I evolve story by Rtn Dr. J. Balavenkatasubramanian, Senior Consultant at Ganga Medical Centre, emphasizes the importance of purpose and combating mediocrity in life. He encourages students to identify their strengths, utilize their privileges, and set ambitious goals. The program aims to foster self-development, combining academic knowledge with interpersonal and leadership skills. He advocates for strategic thinking, drawing inspiration from world leaders, and continuous self-improvement. The program, As I Evolve, provides a platform for students to interact with experts and find their purpose.
The session was taken over by Rtn Pradeep Yuvaraj, who had captivated the audience with his unique storytelling ideas and examples. He began by narrating his own story of developing into a businessman despite the hardships he faced. He also engaged the audience with an interesting activity to exemplify the importance of simple thinking and importance of complete perspective on a topic. He also established the necessity of storytelling with an interesting story he created. Storytelling is an important aspect of conveying messages, even those of higher complexity.
